Ghosts 4: The Ghost Tree by mpn
Ink on heavy watercolour paper
this is about.. the ghost tree.. a tree where ghosts like to gather and meet. they are special trees.. old trees… and the ghosts usually gather there during full moon nights. humans.. might see them.. or not. some just feel cold when walking past the tree… others look up and see misty shapes in the tree.. and then there are others…. that know and say a silent greeting to the ghosts and their tree as they walk past it.

Gouache on heavy watercolour paper.
Autumn is here.. officially. … and since you martin picked colours last week.. i do the same.. the colours of autumn. anything goes subject wise.. medium wise..
this photo is not very good.. sorry about that. i might replace it with a better one in the morning. artificial light is just no good to take photos.. happy new week.. happy autumn.. have fun 🙂
Bluesy Orange Tree by mpn
Gouache on watercolour paper
based on martin’s post yesterday and on the article i mentioned in my first posting of this week, i decided to explore this primary-complementary colour scheme idea… so i had an idea for the procedure but not what i was actually going to paint. that idea hit me this morning around 5 a.m. as i was turning in bed to go back to sleep .. a tree. of course! so instead of going to sleep, i got up and made a rough sketch.. and started on the background – full well knowing by now that i WOULD go back to sleep “yawn” – giving the background time to dry. i used two colours in the painting – Cobalt Blue and Orange, both liquid gouache. the original colours can be seen in the tree trunk and the leaves. the rest is mixed with white and black. thanks martin, for giving me this idea – i hope you like my “reply” … :)=
